FAQs
What is Big Tom?
Big Tom is a spiced tomato juice - a rich tomato juice blended with herbs, spices and vegetarian Worcestershire sauce. Launched in 1996, it's the leading spicy tomato juice in Europe and holds a Royal Warrant. Drink it chilled on its own, or use it as the perfect Bloody Mary mix.
Does Big Tom contain alcohol?
No. Big Tom is completely non-alcoholic. It's the spiced tomato base - you add the vodka to make a Bloody Mary, or enjoy it just as it is for an alcohol-free Virgin Mary.
What's in Big Tom? (ingredients and allergens)
Tomato juice, spice blend flavouring (contains celery and mustard), Worcestershire sauce (water, spirit vinegar, salt, tamarind, garlic salt, cayenne pepper, cloves), sugar, malt vinegar (from barley). There are no preservatives and no artificial flavours. Allergens: contains celery and mustard. Always check the label for the full, current list.
Is Big Tom suitable for vegetarians and vegans?
Yes. We use a vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (no anchovies), so Big Tom is suitable for both vegetarians and vegans.
Is Big Tom gluten-free?
While the ingredients list contains malt vinegar (which is derived from barley), the final product is gluten-free because, after testing, no detectable gluten remains in the product. It is also completely vegetarian and vegan.
Is Big Tom healthy? How many calories does it have?
Big Tom is naturally rich in lycopene (approx. 75mg per litre) with no preservatives or artificial flavours. As a savoury, low-sugar alternative to sweet soft drinks it's a lighter choice – and just 18 calories per 100ml.
Why is it called Big Tom?
It's our tribute to the tomato — a big, bold tomato flavour.
How do I make a Bloody Mary with Big Tom?
Pour 50ml vodka over ice, top with 150ml chilled Big Tom (a 1:3 ratio), and stir. Add a squeeze of lemon if you like it sharper. Garnish with a celery stick. For a stronger drink, use a 1:2 ratio. That's the best Bloody Mary mix shortcut -the spicing is already done.
